Sundance, WY to South Dakota August 10-12, 2014

We had a nice big thunderstorm happen while we were at the Crook County Fairgrounds in Sundance, WY. All the motorcycles quickly found refuge from the storm. The
lightning was awesome. After it passed, there was a cool rainbow that came out.

Of course, pictures just don't do it justice. At one point, it started forming into a double rainbow.

We left the fairgrounds by 8AM for our 100 mile trip into South Dakota.

We killed a bit of time at Wallyworld as we were going through Rapid City. Today is the last day of the Sturgis motorcycle rally and there were bikers everywhere. We saw a sign along I-90 between Sturgis and Rapid City advertising a RV campsite for $80.00 per night. Wow!

We arrived at the Hart Ranch 2 hours before check in time (2 PM).

But they were super friendly and got us checked into space 260.

This place is amazing. Huge, over 400 FHU sites, cabins, amenities and activities everywhere. Clean as can be. Big concrete level pad, cable tv, great wifi, all at our RPI price of $10.00 per night, plus some taxes and surcharges. Quite the deal. We are going to do 6 nights here while we get Donna's driver's license and our annual medical checkups done.

It was Donna's turn to add South Dakota to our 'states visited' map.

Here are a few pics of Hart Ranch.

The next day, we had our medical appointments. WE got checked out, pee'd in a bottle, gave blood, and Donna got her boobs smashed..... and all is GOOD!

That evening we went for a walk and found our first geocache in South Dakota.

We really like it here.

And so does Rumble Bunny.

  1. Sounds like things went well! I get my "smashin" next week when I fly back to CA for my appts and our sons second college grad. Since Steve will be working and watching the pooch, he'll stay longer in Bozeman. THEN we head to SD!
