Ho-Chunk Casino Baraboo, Wisconsin - August 23, 2014

Donna and I found our 1st geocache in Wisconsin. We found it in an old cemetery. Pretty cool Huh?
And the weather!!! Humid as all get out! The temp was only 90 something, but felt like 117 in the Congo! We took a trip down the road to Mirror Lake State Park to scope out their campground. I think we will need an electrical connection after all.

They had only 37 sites with electric and were all booked up. It was Friday and the end of summer after all. So...

We decided to stay in the RV park at the Ho-chunk Casino after all. We chose to do 2 more nights and I even got a $10.00 per day discount for being a vet. So we will stay here 2 more nights at $16.00 a night. With electricity for our AC!

Just stepping outside from our RV, or the casino, our glasses would 'fog' right up. It was stifling.

Our new site.

We don't have sewer, but there is a dump here. We don't have water at our site, but we strung our 3 white hoses together and 'stole' water for our fresh water tank from a FHU site across the road. We were good to go.

Donna and I went into the casino and signed up for their players rewards card. Then we commenced to go crazy at the slot machines.

We each put a dollar in a machine and really took off. Well, I was done in about one and a half minutes. But Donna was going at it for at least three! But we did take advantage of the free drinks there. Donna had a Diet Pepsi and I had a Cranberry juice and also an orange juice too!

Big spending wheeler-dealers we are.

We did take a trip into the Wisconsin Dells area. This place is amazing! Really! Must be THE vacation spot of Wisconsin, for sure! A tourist town, big time. This place is bigger than Anaheim, CA, or anyplace we have seen in Florida. They say this is the waterpark capital of the world. And one place advertises the largest waterpark in America.

And so much more...

We were going to go visit the Moosehead Pizza & Brewery for lunch. It looked pretty cool.

But first we drove down the 'strip' and checked out all the stuff going on. Here is a taste of what we were seeing.

But we stopped at the Sprecher's Restaurant & Brew Pub.

We each had a Brewhouse Burger, and split a flight.

We tasted Black Bavarian, Irish Stout, Hefeweizen, Hard Root Beer, Pub Brown, Special Amber, and Octoberfest...... Yumbo!!!

A good day!

I think we are heading into Illinois tomorrow.

  1. You guys are sure making progress! We just got in to Box Elder tonight. Sounds like you've had fun along the way! The Dells reminds me of Myrtle Beach.
