Lions Club Campground, Bowman, ND and Crook County Fairgrounds, Sundance, WY August 7-10, 2014

Sully Creek Rec Area was a great boondocking spot. But we decided to head a little south toward South Dakota. Our check-in at Hart Ranch in Rapid City isn't till Sunday, so we still have 3 days to kill.

We drove down highway 85 just 80 miles. I did some research and wanted to check out the Bowman Lions Club Campground. It was right on the edge of town.

It is boondocking only. It does have water available and a dump station. There were only 2 other rigs there. It is 'free'. A donation is requested. Perfect!

We found a good spot and got set up.

While in Bowman, we found all 4 geocaches in town, went for walks, and checked out the local museum. It is a neat little town. A perfect stopping place if you ever get this way.

After 2 days there, we wanted to drive south to spend one night in Wyoming. So off we went. 162 miles later we were in Sundance, WY.

We have been seeing a ton of motorcycles. This is the last weekend of the massive motorcycle rally in Sturgis.

We were going to drive a couple of miles north of town to see what the Sundance Campground and Horse Camp was like. But while we were driving through Sundance, I spotted a mostly empty RV camping area at the Crook County Fairgrounds.

We boogied on in and pulled into a spot.

At the Wyoming rest area and visitor center, we had a couple of photo opportunities.

So now we add Wyoming.
