Conestoga Campground, White Sulphur Springs, Montana August 1-4, 2014

We left the Elks Lodge in Kalispell around 9 AM. We chose some smaller roads to travel the 273 miles to the center of the state of Montana. South on Highway 93, across Highway 82 to Highway 83 South, then East on Highway 200. As we turned South on Highway 141, we came upon quite a bit of construction. And more on Highway 12 East just before we arrived at White Sulphur Springs.

We checked into Conestoga Campground, which is an RPI park, and decided to do 3 nights here at $13.00 per night.

The folks at the office were super friendly. We got checked into site 32.

As I was updating our web page (www.thefergs.com), showing our current location, I checked us in via RVilliage and found out there were 3 other RVilliage folks here as well. I quess this little spot in the middle of big ole Montana is a good stopping point. Our 3 days here is to get some laundry done and just plain relax. We have traveled 694 miles since we left the Seattle area, and have only 422 to go till we get to North Dakota. We will be killing a week or more in South Dakota before moving on to Niagara Falls and our rally in Indiana.

Here are a few pics that I took around the campground.

We even decided to do a little Geocaching around the place. There are 3 pretty close to the campground.

I also updated the 'Statistics & Budget' section of our web site. Next month I will add our 1 year 'on the road' recap. Last month our average monthly cost for camping was only $ 2.54! Not bad! We had a pretty good month, budget wise. Now that we are on the road again, Diesel will be high, but we will watch our other spending to make up for it.

  1. We are just a little south of you near Rexburg, ID. We're in a small county park boondocking until Friday, then we'll most likely head up to Harry's Lake State Park in MT for a bit. Middle of the month we'll be in Bozeman somewhere. Enjoy you're rest, that's what we plan to do this week too!

  2. Hey Guys, We have been following you travels since the OR RV Dreams rally. Just want to drop a note off and tell you we spent about 4 days there when we moved from PA to CA 6 years ago. If I remember correctly there is a neat small museum in town. If you are into that kind of thing they give you a personal tour. Have fun, stay safe. Harry & Vicki
