Thunderbird RV Campground, Monroe, WA - Sept 30, 2021

Just spent 4 nights at the Thunderbird RV Campground in Monroe, WA. This Thousand Trails park has been our 'go to' campground since it is the closest park to our Son's house in Snohomish. It rained almost everyday while we were here. But we did get to visit with Tim, Shannon, and our grandsons, Roman & Ryker a couple of times. We got our Flu shots the other day, and Donna got to see her Dermatologist about her hair/fingernail issues.

The truck is running just fine. No check engine lights. Maybe it was just a fluke. We shall see.

Today, we made a 97 mile move over the Cascades to the Cashmere Fairgrounds. The place is officially called the Chelan County Expo Center. They have 140 RV spaces, mostly on grass, with full hookups. They charge $27.00 a night.

We will be here 3 nights. Friday, October 1st (my birthday), we will be attending my Wenatchee High School Class of 70, 50th year reunion. It was cancelled last year because of Covid. So we are doing it a year late. Friday and Saturday are the days. Looking forward to it. Details and pics on next post.

On a side note, our Southwire 34950 Surge Guard,

started displaying 'Replace Surge' after plugging it in. Sure enough, after calling the company, they said it 'did it's job' and protected me from a destructive surge, and it is pretty much no good now. Not what I wanted to hear. Not repairable. $329.00 spent and gone. I think I will go with a Progressive Industries 50 amp hardwired EMS next. We had one in a couple of our rigs. This one only lasted 9 months...before it gave up it's life for us.

I also just got notified that a co-worker of mine, that I worked with at Verizon/Frontier Communications, just passed away from Covid. I worked with him my last 4 years with the company before I retired. He was 51 years old. He had no health problems that I knew about. So sad. This stuff is real. Get your shots folks.

La Conner RV Campground, La Conner, WA - Sept 26, 2021

We spent 5 nights at this Thousand Trails RV Park. We are on this side of the state because we wanted to visit with our son, Tim & family. Our RV park choices were Tall Chief RV Park in Fall City, it is a Thousand Trails Trail Collection park; Thunderbird Park in Monroe, and La Conner RV Park in La Conner. All three parks are free for us with our Thousand Trails membership and we could stay 2 or 3 weeks at each one...if there were openings. Many of our RV parks we normally stay at are pretty well booked. More than usual this time of the year. That's why we are at La Conner. It is still 56 miles away from Tim's house. It is what it is. Twice during our 5 day stay, we made the trip down Interstate 5 and spent time with them. One day, we even made it to our grandson, Roman's soccer game.

Love watching our grandsons play their sports. They are into Soccer, basketball, and baseball.

While we were here, our truck had it's 'check engine' light come on. I swung into Auto Zone and they put their code reader on and found out that possibly the thermostats needed replaced, or the sensor. At least we were drivable. I called around and got us an appointment at Speedway Chevrolet in Monroe for next Tuesday. Glad we bought the extended warranty. Even thou we have a $100 deductible, it is a great 'peace of mind'.

Today, after 5 days here, we packed her up and headed 64 miles south to the Thousand Trails park in Monroe. We found a nice spot, where our Dish Network TV will work.

And wouldn't you know it... the engine check light went out.

Will let you know how it goes next time.

Crescent Bar RV Campground, Quincy, WA - Sept 21, 2021

We only stayed at this Thousand Trails campground for 4 days. Long enough to get our laundry done, update my web site (www.thefergs.com), and make it to my Step-brother's Celebration of Life in Wenatchee.

I have always updated my web site after every place we have ever stayed in our RV. This includes a photo of the site, GPS co-ordinates of the site, dates, and mileage towed. I update 'Where We Have Been', 'Where Are We', and 'Statistics & Budget' tabs on the web pages. I also update a mileage spreadsheet, and a '2021 camping totals' spreadsheet in Dropbox. I also update two more spreadsheets called 'Year Nine' and 'Fulltime Travels'. I also did a year eight recap.

Yep ... I am a fanatical recordkeeper.

Randi's Celebration of Life was really good. He left us at just 61 years old. Way too early. He will be greatly missed.

We then made a 174 mile move to the Thousand Trails La Conner RV Campground.

We will be here for 5 days and spend some time with our Son Tim and family. We are planning to meet up with them on our way south this year and all go to Disneyland together. That will happen during the first week of November.

The weather is cooling down now. Cooler days and chilly nights. I still have my high school reunion to attend before we migrate south for the winter.

Doctor Appt & Fire Camp Again - Aug 16 - Sept 15, 2021

We came back to our home (RV in Deer Park, WA) so Donna could see a doctor about her issue with her hair and fingernails. It worked out great. We saw a dermatologist in Kirkland, WA and he recognized what was going on. It seems she has an autoimmune disease and he began treatment with a monthly shot of some kind of steroid. Nice to finally have an answer as to what's going on.

August 16th, we flew back out to the Dixie wildfire camp at Quincy, CA.

September 12th, my Step-Brother, Randi passed away. We were very close. This will cut our work summer time out. That's OK, we have been out 53 days this season. It was been a good working season.

September 15th, we flew back to our RV. We have been moochdocking at our friends place for 65 days. A big thanks to Tim & Bev for that. They are still out at the fires. Upon returning, we found out that our refrigerator was still running on propane. That was a relief. I filled both tanks before we left. We were gone for 32 days this trip, and only one tank was empty.

Today, September 17th, we packed up and made the 173 mile move to Crescent Bar RV Campground.

Tomorrow is Randi's celebration of life in Wenatchee. It is good to be back on the road again.

Time up here in the north is running out. Getting pretty chilly at night. We will be heading south soon.
