Kenisee Lake RV Resort - August 30-31, 2014

There is a bunch of old covered bridges here in the area. We found a map showing a route that we could take to see them.

So off we went.

The route has 18 covered bridges here in Ashtabula County. There are even signs along the way so you won't get lost.

As we stopped at the sites, we checked our Geocache maps, and yep! There are geocaches pretty much at each bridge location.

Here we go!

We just visited 7 of the bridges on our way to see Lake Erie. We drove along the lake on Highway 531. It is labeled a scenic byway in the travel brochures. We saw quaint little towns, tourist type towns, even a biker event in Geneva-On-The-Lake. And of course Lake Erie.

We stopped along the way at various parks and interesting spots. We saw an Irish Pub and decided to stop for lunch. After parking behind the building, we walked around the corner and entered the place. It was after we ordered that we figured out that we entered a different pub. We ended up in the Briquette's Smokehouse. Oh well, we had an incredible Super Nachos and a couple of micro brews. Maybe we'll do Irish next time.

On the way out, Donna saw a purple house covered with Ivy. Had to get a picture.

The next day we went to see what the Greenway Trail was all about. This use to be old railroad tracks. Now a paved trail, 27 miles long. It is used for walkers, joggers, rollerbladers, and bicyclers. We also saw that it had many geocaches all along it's route.

We left our bikes at the RV and decided to walk today. It is a neat trail, we did find 2 caches after walking a couple of miles, but the bugs and mosquitos were driving us nuts.

Back to the rig.

On the way back to the rig, I took the shortest route. There was a 'low clearance' bridge on this route that the RV park's directions warned us about. They said 'do not follow your GPS. Well, I decided to test my Rand McNally RVND 7710. I made sure I was in 'RV Mode' and my height of 13 feet (12'11") was programmed in.

Under we went....without the RV of course.

Nothing went off. No bells or sirens....nothing.

Oh well....keeping my eyes open!
