Redding, CA Elks Lodge

We left the Escapees park in Sutherlin, OR at 7:30AM. My engine light was on again. I will replace the number 8 glow plug soon.

Today will be a 257 mile trip. It got hot. Up to 86 degrees by noon. But it wasn't too bad.

We did drive over Siskiyou Summit in southern Oregon on I5. Slow and steady. 4,310 feet in elevation. No problems. This is the highest point on I5. Entered California.

Drove by Mt. Shasta...cool.

Then by Dunsmuir, CA. What a cool name. Reminds me of a little Scottish town in the mountains.

Then Castle Crags comes into view. Beautiful area.

We arrived at the Elks Lodge in Redding, CA around 12:30PM. This is the nicest Elks Lodge we have visited. We have 50 amp service and water.

The lodge has all the amenities you could imagine. They have a pool, hot tub, and golf course. Must be room for around 20 RV sites.

We found a good spot.

This is our spot.

We went into the bar for some Hump Day appetizer specials and partook of some chicken fingers and patty melt sliders. We visited with some of the other 'Travelling Elks'.

Happy, Happy, Happy.
