First Elks & SKP Park - Oregon!

We left Elma, WA and had an easy 116 mile drive to The Vancouver, WA Elks lodge. We met a fellow in the parking lot there and he gave us the grand tour of the place. Nice guy. We opted to boondock for $7.00 because I didn't want to unhook and we're planning for an early departure.

Our daughter Kim, came and picked us up and we went to their (Candy & Kim) house for diner. We ate, talked, and said our 'see ya laters' and Kim took us back to the Elks. We slept good, even with the slides in.

We headed out and through Vancouver and around Portland on I205. We left at 8 AM and the traffic wasn't too bad.

A good travel day. Only 180 miles.

Oregon!!

We arrived at Sutherlin, OR just before noon. And followed the signs to the Timber Valley Escapees Park.

We headed down a long driveway...hey! looky over there...a deer....cool.

Before we got to the check in area...more of them.

We checked in with no problems. Everyone was very friendly. Our first time at an SKP Park.

As we headed over to our site, # 18, we saw some wild turkeys.

This is a really nice park. A person can buy/lease a site for $10,000.00. Pay around $1000.00 a year maintenance fees, but when they sell and leave, they get all of the buying price back. You only pay for electric and propane.

Here is a typical lot.

There are 215 lots here. When an owner leaves or travels, they will rent it out to visitors, like us.

Here is some shots of the area.

There is a community lodge here for activities.

Saw a couple of giant rabbits here too.

And here is our site # 18.

We will be here 2 nights. Tomorrow, to the beaches.

Smiling all the way.
