Moving Family From Phoenix, Moochdocking, Yakima, WA - October 14, 2021

October 4th, we finally flew out of the Yakima Airport, changed planes in Seattle, and made it to Phoenix. Donna and I helped our daughter, Kim, and family pack all their stuff, clean their apartment, and watched our 2 grand daughters (age 1 & 3) while we got everything ready for this move.

Monday the 11th, I picked up the U-Haul 26 foot moving truck, and the real fun began.

We filled the truck completely.

and hit the road. Donna and I were in the big truck, and Kim, Chris, and the girls were following in their loaded SUV. The first leg of the trip was 240 miles and we stopped for the night in Laughlin, NV. We spent the night at Harrah's Casino Resort.

The drive Tuesday was 550 miles and we stopped for the night in Jackpot, NV. Chris got us a suite at Cactus Pete's Casino Resort. It was a huge deluxe suite with bedroom, living room, large bathroom, and a giant jacuzzi. Donna and I had a nice relaxing, fun night there before the last leg of the trip.

Then Wednesday, we headed out for the last 525 miles to Yakima, WA. It was a good, fast, un-eventful trip. Chris's folks are letting us moochdock at their house. They are out of town and so we get to stay in our rig while we are in this area.

Thursday, we moved everything out of the truck into their new apartment.

I forgot how much work moving is. After we emptied and returned the truck, we helped Kim organize her new house a little, then said our goodbyes. We are heading out in the morning to Monroe for our last few days here in Washington.
