Last 5 Days in Washington, The Trip South, Red Bluff, CA - October 22, 2021

The Thunderbird Thousand Trails RV Campground, we have been here many times. We had a nice site with 50 Amp and water. And satellite reception too.

Our last 5 days in Washington before our migration south where the weather is warmer and dryer. That is not the case around here right now.

While here, we celebrated our Grandson's 11th birthday.

Then the next day, we watched the boys while Tim & Shannon had a date night. They went to a Foo Fighters concert.

We said our goodbyes and prepared to head south.

Then, wouldn't you know, just the day before departure, the 'Check Engine' light came on again.

This time I stopped by Harbor Freight and picked up a code reader.

I checked the code and it was the temp sensor again. Not serious. Maybe a stuck thermostat. I can deal with it when we get settled later.

Wednesday morning we were off, check engine light and all.

A good, uneventful travel day, 409 miles south on Interstate 5, to Canyonville, OR and the Seven Feathers Casino for the night.

Boondocked in their parking lot with our propane space heater for heat... a good night.

Next day, off again, 249 miles and into California. We drove over the Siskiyou's by Mount Shasta, where the rain started...and never stopped.

Stopped for the night at the Red Bluff Elks. Oh, and my check engine light went out again.

$25.00 a night for 30 Amp and water. It rained all night.

As soon as it lets up, we will hit the road again.

The Fergs out .......

  1. Safe travels! We're in the Sacramento area for another week, looks like our last week here will be really wet. Looking forward to heading to AZ next weekend, hoping we can see you 2 this winter.
