Capital Reef N.P. - Bear Valley RV Campground, Panguitch, UT - September 25, 2017

Sunday, the 24th, was the day we finally made it to the last of the 5 Utah National Parks, Capital Reef. We all (Tim & Bev, and us) left at 8:30AM and it was a 108 mile drive to the park. It got pretty cold that night, around 36 degrees. And sure enough, besides seeing snow on the hill tops, we got snowed on. Thank goodness it did't stick and we had no problem.

By the time we got closer to the park, it was all good.

We got our pics taken at the sign,

and headed to the visitor center.

After watching the movie and getting our passport stamped, we headed out on the 25 mile roundtrip scenic drive.

We stopped at a pioneer house, looked around and bought a pie.

At the end of the drive, we stopped for lunch, but it was too cold out so we ate in the car.

Along the route, we found an old schoolhouse. It was petty cool.

Then some cool petroglyphs.

Then an old mining site.... uranium. No we didn't stay long here.

As we headed back home, we all talked about our Utah National Park experiance. We all agreed that Capital Reef was pretty neat, it rated number 5 of all 5 parks. Again, we were glad we came here, it was just that the others were much better. We rated them as Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands, Zion, and then Capital Reef.

On the way home, we stopped at Butch Cassidy's childhood home. It was in the middle of nowhere. No wonder he got bored and began his exciting career.

Better him, than me!

It has been a great week here in Panguitch and we are heading out tomorrow. But tonight we have we an event to see.

Fergs .... out!
