Arches N.P. - Pack Creek Campground, Moab, UT - September 14, 2017

Our last day at the Elks Lodge in Provo, we stocked up on supplies at Costco, Sam's Club, and Walmart. The cats even got some treats. And catnip toys.

Then we had company. Tim & Bev, our old bosses from Crescent Bar, showed up in their RV. We knew we were going to meet up with them and do some travelling together, but thought we would meet in Moab. They were early. Cool!

They parked next to us.

Bright and early in the morning we were off toward Moab, a 195 mile drive. We watched the landscape change.

We arrived in Moab, and it was hot. Mid 90s. We both had reservations at Pack Creek Campground. It is a no frills place, but FHU and just a tad over $30.00 a night. It was a good place to be to see the area. We will do a week here.

Here is the park.

Pack Creek

Tim & Bev parked next to us.

The next morning, we headed to Arches National Park at 8 AM, trying to beat the crowd. We did our picture taking at the Park sign.

The hit the visitor center for the maps, a movie, and get our Passport stamped.

Looks like we beat the crowd!

Then we were off exploring the park. We took a ton of pictures, but our favorite places were the places where we could park and get out on the trails, like the Courthouse Towers, the Windows Section, and Devils Garden.

At the end of the road, we found a nice picnic area, with shade, to have a late lunch.

Since it was so hot out this day, Tim & I decided to come back the next morning to do the Delicate Arch Trail.

That night we ate at El Charro Loco mexican food restaurant. We all agreed it was the best mexican food we have ever had. Pretty amazing! Last night we ate at the Moab Brewery. Good atmoshere, food and drinks.

This morning, Tim and I headed back to Arches and to the Delicate Arch Trailhead.

Good thing it was a little cooler today, this hike is only a 3 mile round trip, but it is rates as strenuous and up, up, up.
We walked by the old Wolf Ranch, and some petroglyphs.

Then it was up the trail, slick rock, and rock.

Close to the top, we walked along a rocky ledge.

Then the ledge ended at what appeared to be an amphitheater.

There it was .. Delicate Arch.

Awesome hike, to an awesome view. We stayed up there for quite a while. Then an approaching thunderstorm let us know, it was time to go home.

Arches National Park, an awesome place!

Fergs .... out!
