Arizona's West Coast, Oct 7-10

On Monday evening, we went over to Gene & Cyndi's house for dinner and a movie. We ate BBQ ribs that Gene made on his new BBQ. Twas great! After dinner, I hooked my notebook and external hard drive to Gene's TV and we watched Star Trek - Into Darkness. I have 301 movies copied onto my hard drive and this was a good one. We had another great evening with them.

While downtown in Bullhead City, we saw a road runner.

They DO exist! First one we have ever seen in the 'wild'.

Tuesday, we drove to Lake Havasu City. We had to check out the London Bridge there. Yes, it is the real deal. A guy bought it, disassembled it, labeled all the bricks, and reassembled it here.

There is a lot of 'British' looking stuff here.

Also here, the IJSBA was happening. That is the International Jet Ski World Finals competition. We did see some crazy jet ski dudes doing back flips.

The bridge...

They also have 22 miniature lighthouses around the lake. They are 1/3rd scale replicas of real ones. Here are a couple we saw.

We gassed up here (diesel) for $3.76 a gallon. It's getting better.

We then headed to Kingman. There is a nice piece of Rt 66 there.

We went to the Powerhouse Route 66 Museum. Only $3.00 admission each, and we also got entrance to the Mohave Museum of History and Art, and a cool restored turn of the century house called the Bonelli House. What a bargain.

In the museum..

This area was rocking back in the day.

I even got 18.3 miles to the gallon on the way back to Ft. Mohave.

Wednesday the 9th, we joined Sam's Club. We will shop here instead of Costco. They are just about the same. We did find out that several packages of chicken we had bought at Costco in California were included in the latest salmonella outbreak. We tossed them just to be safe.

Today is my Son's birthday. Happy Birthday Tim!

Thursday, we met Gene and Cyndi at a casino close by in Nevada. The Avi Casino and Resort is a really nice place.

We joined their players club and got to do a 2 for 1 in the lunch buffet. We both ate too much...all for $9.72. Pretty cheap lunch.

Then we played the slots. The players club card came with $5.00 free slot play. It took 2 minutes to spend that!

We also cashed in some of our Alaska Airline miles and we now have reservations for a flight from Las Vegas to Seattle November 11-17. Our grandson Ryker Nash Ferguson will be born Nov 12th. He will be our Son Tim (and Shannon)'s second child. Our 4th grandson.

Paid for another week here at the RAT (Riverside Adventure Trails).

We have been on the road for 5 weeks now.

Loving it!
