Two New Harvest Hosts, Two New States - Newark, DE - April 6, 2023

We traveled another 138 miles to another Thousand trails on the Eastern coast of Virginia, Virginia Landing. To get there, we got to cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The toll was $24.00 for the 17.6-mile-long bridge. Two sections were underwater. Not much traffic and it was an enjoyable experience.

Virginia Landing was apparently just opened and there was very few RVs there. It was a really nice location, right along the water with some barrier islands off in the distance. The weather was great also. Just did 2 nights there. The pictures...

A cool beach house.

Here we are.

Then it was off to a new state for us, Maryland.

We stopped at another Harvest Host 107 miles down the road, Layton's Chance Vineyards & Winery. It was a nice quiet night. We were the only ones there. The Host & owner was really nice.

There are also a lot of little country churches around this part of the country, and there seems to always be a graveyard next to it.

The next day, we were off and into another new to us state, Delaware.

We drove 111 miles this day. The states are smaller, and our stops are closer together. It is kind of nice. We did have to stop for an open draw bridge on our way. First time for this.

And another Chesapeake Bay Bridge too.

Our stop this time was another Harvest Host, Midnight Oil Brewery in Newark, DE.

New Jersey is next!!

The Fergs out .......

  1. Chesapeake Bay is steeped in history, a very cool area that I could spend weeks at.
