We left Delaware and had an easy move into New Jersey. Just a 76-mile drive day. We crossed the Delaware River,
and made our way to the Mays Landing RV Campground, an Encore park, without hitting any toll roads. I was stationed in New Jersey back in 1971 .. many years ago. I had my military schooling at Fort Monmouth. It is closed now and was bought out by Netflix. I lived in Asbury Park and Bay Head. After looking at google and maps, nothing looked the same, so I felt no need to travel so far north, just to be disappointed. Needless to say, you can never go back.
We got setup in a small site that was really sloped. But using all my blocks, we got level.
While here, we headed over to the Jersey Shore. There are some really nice houses, apartments, and condos all around here, each with spacious decks with great views.
We visited Ocean City and walked on the beach and the boardwalk.
We enjoyed some good ole Jersey pie, at Pisa Pizzeria.
We headed over to Margate to see Lucy the Elephant. Pretty cool.
Then on to Atlantic City. Didn't do too much there. The streets were really narrow, everywhere costs to park, but we got to see what it was all about.
Another day, we drove south a bit to the Wildwoods. We explored the Beach Ball Beach and their boardwalk area.
Large beach area
Lots of touristy stuff to waste money on.
Much of the boardwalk areas were not open yet.
Our 8 days in New Jersey is coming to an end. Pennsylvania is next up.
The Fergs out .......
