We had a 270 mile moving day, and we entered a new state for us .. Virginia.
We also experienced a first. We drove across a bridge over AND under water. Yep, it was on the Hampton Roads Beltway (I-664) between Norfolk and Newport News. It was pretty cool!
In one of the towns, we drove through, we had to stop for a funeral precession. A little different.
We are at the Chesapeake Bay RV Campground near Gloucester, VA. It is a pretty nice Thousand Trails park. Here are a few pictures.
And here we are.
We are only going to be here 2 days, so today, we travelled the Colonial Parkway through 'America's Historic Triangle'. This includes Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. There were many sites to stop and see, but we first went to the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center for maps and info.
Then on to Colonial Williamsburg, getting lost in the William & Mary college campus on the way. We walked our little legs off today!
These were on the way towards Colonial Williamsburg.
A lot of people enjoying a nice Sunday afternoon.
It took a while, but finally discovered this wasn't the right place. We were on W&M campus.
After using Google Maps and walking about 3/4 of a mile, we found the right place, Colonial Williamsburg .. the largest 'Living History' museum in the world.
And a cool tree!
Tomorrow will take us across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to another camping spot in Virginia.
36 states so far
The Fergs out .......
Beautiful area. There is so much history in that area it's nearly impossible to see it in one visit.
