While boondocking overnight at the Harvest Host Dueling Grounds Distillery, it got down to 35 degrees at night. I got our HearthRite propane heater all set up to use that night and in the morning. We don't use our RV furnace because it drinks propane and is so inefficient. We also have flannel sheets and a nice big comforter on our bed and it is nice and warm for us at night. In the morning, I fire up the HearthRite heater and we warm up the RV. There is a cold front moving through the area.
The next day, we traveled back into Tennessee 129 miles to the eastern part near Knoxville. We picked up a new travel sticker map to keep track of all the different states that we have camped in. I put it on our living room mirror. Thirty-four states down so far.
Not that many left to go.
While driving through Nashville:
They have a cool building that kinda looks like it belongs to Batman. It is the Nashville AT & T building.
We are staying near Heiskell, TN, just NE of Knoxville. We are going to stay 4 nights at Raccoon Valley RV Park, a nice escapees (SKP) park.
It was $105.00 for our 4-night stay. I was glad we had a 50 amp FHU site. It got down to 32 degrees the first night, up to 36 during the day, and only 23 the next night. We did ok. We have a portable electric heater to use during the night. In the morning, I also turn on our fireplace. It got cold, but our RV has pretty good insulation because it was 23 out this morning, and 71 inside. That is a 48 degree difference.
In the last picture, you may notice a droplight and bucket on our neighbor's water spigot. So it won't freeze, I guess. I just fill our freshwater tank and use our pump. We also have tank water heaters, but I hope to not have to use them.
Sometimes, I think we may have headed north a little too early. While still in this area, we are going to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, Pidgeon Forge, and Gatlinburg.
The Fergs out .......
