TX to AR - Texarkana, AR - November 1, 2022

It rained pretty good at Lake Texoma RV Park for a couple of days. I took lots of pictures of this park and did a review and posted it yesterday. We did get away one of our five days here, and went into Oklahoma. We were just 6 miles from the OK state line.

We took care of three of our 'bucket list' items.

First, we drove to Oklahoma City (about 150 miles), to visit the  Oklahoma City National Memorial site and Museum. It was awesome. They did a great job with the grounds and museum. Very somber and a day to remember what happened April 19, 1995 at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.

Here are just some of the pictures we took. (yep, lots)

Then we drove about 10 miles east to the town of  Choctaw, OK.

I just had to drive through this town. My Mom was born here in 1927 and then they migrated to Washington in the early 40s. I didn't know their address, but I was looking at all the old homesteads thinking...that could be the one. Pretty cool.

And lastly, we drove north a few miles to the town of Harrah, OK. We found the Memory Lane Cemetery. This is where my Grandfather was buried. I never got to meet him. He passed in 1949. We search until we found him. Yea!!

Quite a nice day. Time to head back to Texas and our RV Park.

Tuesday, November 1st, it was time to move on. We have never camped in Arkansas... so off we went eastward.

190 miles later...

Another state sticker to add to our map.

We are staying at the Sunrise RV Park just outside of Texarkana, Arkansas.

It is nice place with a Good Sam discount. FHU for $34.32 per night.

The Fergs out .......
