Another TT Park, Buc-ee's, and Tornados - Lake Tawakoni RV Campground - Point, TX - November 7, 2022

From our last camping spot in Arkansas, we headed back into Texas, 143 miles, to a Thousand Trails park that we had never been to. We are at Lake Tawakoni RV Campground near Point, TX just west of Dallas. We have now been to all 7 Thousand Trail parks in Texas that are part of our membership. There are 60 RV Parks included in our membership and we have stayed at 43 of them.

Our RV site at this campground.

The day after we arrived, Friday, there was some stormy weather in the forecast for that evening. I got out our weather radio and set it up for Rains County, TX and tested it.

Our truck and RV were under the cover of several trees in our site. And we had our eye on the brick restrooms near us. We had the TV on and watched the storms progress.

Several super cells developed between Dallas and our location. Several went right over us. Our weather radio went off 3 times with tornado warnings.

But we were spared. There were 18 tornados reported in this 3 state area and 2 people died. We don't expect anymore weather events for the 5 days we will be here. Heading south to San Antonio soon.

Another bucket list item was taken care of yesterday. We went to Buc-ee's!! We have heard lots about these places and we did drive by one a couple of weeks ago. I didn't want to stop with our RV in tow. This Buc-ee's was just 33 miles away near Terrel, TX. So we headed there to check it out.

Look at the number of gas pumps!

We had to pose with Buc-ee.

Some Hershey's Chocolate Porter....hmmm...

They had everything in here.

Even the Men's restroom had 30 urinals  (no photo)

This is what we bought. Had to try the Chicken and brisket sandwiches, and some Beaver Nuggets.

What a place!!

Then on the way home, I stopped at Walmart for a beer.

The Fergs out .......
