First Full Year (2014) Complete & Jello Plans - January 1, 2015

Happy New Year to all our family and friends.

Our year started at the Riverside Adventure Trails RV Park in Fort Mohave, Arizona and ended boondocking in the desert at the Dome Rock BLM area just outside of Quartzsite, Arizona.

In 2014 we moved our house 10,961 miles. We stopped and set up camp in 75 locations.

That is an average of 146 miles between stops and a 4.9 days at each campsite. The move day distance is good for us, but this next year we want to stay longer at each location. We will see how that goes.

The high points for the year were our trip to the RV Dreams rally in Indiana, Niagara Falls and the Great Lakes. The lows were the loss of our Sister In Law, Cyndi and my Aunt Ruth.

Looking forward to another exciting year.

The Jello Plans of a RVer.

We watched the new year (start to) come in while boondocking in the desert. OK, we were fast asleep by 9 PM. We sure love our flannel sheets, 2 fleece blankets and our comforter. But we woke up to 28 degrees outside and 39 inside.

Wow, snow all around us on the mountains. I had heard the pitter, patter of rain drops during the night.

Our neighbors Jim and Barb left for Yuma this morning. There they go.

So we did what RVers do best ..... we shook the Jello. Yep, changed plans.

Hey, my sister Karen & Cliff are just east of Yuma and it is a bit warmer there, lets go visit them.

111 miles later, we were parked by them in the Copper Mountain RV Park in Tacna, AZ.

We are 29 miles east of Yuma just off I-8. It is warmer here, highs in the 50s the low was 32 this morning. A little bit warmer. LOL.

Besides visiting with my Sister, I decided to re-organize and clean out the basement.

I emptied and cleaned out the basement and front storage compartment.

Now just to re-pack all our stuff.

Yeah, we got stuff.

Do we need all this???

Yes......

Happy New Year!

Later. :)

  1. So where's the after shot of the basement? We just did the same, but somehow nothing was thrown/given away either. Happy New Year!

    1. I would post an after packing pic, but I think I need to re-do it already. I just need to get the most frequently used stuff to the front. Seems a never ending process.

  2. We will need to get the packing schematic from you for our Bighorn. It looks like you have the procedure figured out. We relate it to playing RV Tetris. Happy travels and have a safe new year! :-)
