Tuesday, July 15th, we left the Thunderbird and made our 136 mile drive to Crescent Bar Resort along the Columbia River. It was a hot and smoky trip. There are srveral forest fires going on. It was 95 degrees when we arriver and got set up. A pretty good FHU spot with 30 Amp service
It reached 102 that day and our AC pretty much ran all day and night.
Our refrigerator which normally runs at 36 degrees, went right up to 37 and when we went to bed, it was at 42.
Sunny and hot!
Our daughter Kim came to visit us for a couple of days. We drove to Wenatchee and visited with our grandson Erik and Oli (our great Grandson).
It was getting noticeably smokier pretty quickly. There had been 5 or 6 more fires spring up from a recent lightning storm. Ash was falling like snow in many places.
We headed back to the park and cooled off in the pool and was amazed with the amount of smoke in our valleys.
Here are some pics of the fires here. Poor firefighters!
It should cool down to the 90s for the weekend.
Whew!!
Hot here in CA too. Thankfully cooling a bit to upper 80s. That smoke is terrible. I hope they get the fires out quickly. I hate to see forest burning. Good thing you have a pool to cool down in. Looks like we will be in MT early/mid-August.
