We left New York and passed through a little piece of Pennsylvania, and into Ohio.
It was a 176 mile travel day. We stopped at Kenesee Lake RV Campground near Jefferson, OH.
We were there for 4 nights. I was hoping to meet up with another old Army buddy. We were stationed together at Kirkland AFB in 1971 - 1972. But he was out of town and it didn't work out. Maybe some day ....
Then we were heading to the last state to camp in, West Virginia. We headed south 121 miles and ended up staying in a Weirton, WV Walmart.
Our first choice campground was full (and sketchy) so the plan B was Wallyworld. It counted and Donna put the last state sticker on our map.
Now that we have completed all the lower 48 states, we are going to head back to Washington. On the way though, we had to visit our Grandson Erik & family in Michigan. So it was back across Ohio
and into Michigan.
After our 316 mile travel day, we stopped at a Cracker Barrel in Brighton, MI.
This was our first ever Cracker Barrel overnight stop. Worked out good, and the food is pretty good too.
Our next stop was Craven City Park in Bellaire, MI.
It was 228 miles and a nice FHU site while we spent the next 4 days with Erik, Elizabeth, and little man Elija. We had a real good visit.
When we left them, we decided to drive across the Mighty Mac bridge
and drive all the way across the U.P. We had been up here before, and across the big bridge before, but the first time to drive the Yupper highway.
It was a nice 273 mile drive to our next stop, and Elks Lodge in Ishpeming, MI.
After a couple of days there, we left finished driving through the U.P. of Michigan and passed through Wisconsin.
and into Minnesota, a 278 mile day. We are now at Pathfinder Village RV Resort in Hinckley, MN.
Just 2 days here, and it will be a fast trip back to Washington.
The Fergs out .......
