Before we left NH, Donna and I took a Commuter Train from the Salem Transit Station into Boston.
Then we took a Trolley tour all over the city and learned a lot of history of the area. We also checked out the Boston Commons, the Freedom Trail, and the famous Cheers pub. Boston is quite a place.
I also got to meetup with another Army buddy of mine. Bill and I met in Hanau Germany back in 1978. We had a great visit.
Then we headed north again. Entering Maine for the first time.
It was 142 miles to another Elks Lodge in Augusta, Maine.
We cancelled a planned trip up to Acadia National Park because it was too early in the season and several places there were still closed, the weather was terrible, and it was still 100 miles away. So we headed to Rockland on the coast and Donna finally got her Maine lobster at Archers on the Pier. Good times!
Then we headed 255 miles West through New Hampshire. Very pretty country.
And into Vermont.
We stayed at another Elks Lodge in Burlington, VT.
The first thing on our VT bucket list was to visit the Ben & Jerrys Ice Cream Factory near Waterbury. We took the tour and had samples. It was a fun stop.
The other thing we wanted to do was visit a Maple Syrup Farm. We found the Nebraska Knoll Sugarhouse.
We had a tour and learned all about the syrup making process, and had samples. We had to buy some. Really good stuff.
Next travel day was a 301-mile trip into New York State.
And we ended the day staying in a Camping World parking area in Syracuse, NY. We had 30 amp power and it was free (for members).
After just 1 night there, we traveled another 139 miles to an Elks Lodge in Lockport, NY. We have 30 amps & water here.
We are here to go see Niagara Falls. We visited the Falls our first year on the road back in 2014.
There is just one state sticker left to put on our US States Map. That is West Virginia, and it is coming up soon.
Tomorrow, we will be in Ohio.
The Fergs out .......
