Our spot in Palm Springs RV Resort.
It was a 144 mile drive from Acton, CA to the Thousand Trails park in Palm Desert. We have stayed here several times, so our plan here was to just relax, hit the local Walmart, get some laundry done, and soak up some sun. We did drive into Palm Springs to check out the recently erected Marilyn Monroe statue. It was a popular attraction several years ago and was removed and setup somewhere far away. It was back again, so we were going to check her out. Unfortunately, the Palm Springs Main Street was jam packed for a big Pride Festival and parking was non-existent. We did get to see her from a distance while we battled the traffic away from the event.
This is her.
After 5 days at this park, we headed down the road 65 more miles towards the Anza Borrego Desert State Park. We found a great boondocking area close to Borrego Springs. We were the only one camped there at the Peg Leg Road BLM area.
It was a nice spot, just pretty hot, in the 90s.
We did have to run our Predator 2500 generator a little one day to run one of our air conditioners. We were set up next to the Peg Leg Smith Historical Marker.
We were planning to spend just 2 days there, and take one day to drive/hike around Borrego Springs and find all the metal statues that were scattered around the area. They say there are 130 desert art sculptures throughout the area, I think we have made it to over 97. And we have pictures of them all. It was hard to pick out our favorites because there were so many, but these made the cut.
Our favorites...

Look out Sweetie!
Dinos eating my truck.
Friday morning, we are off again and will finally make it back into Arizona. The next stop is an RV park in Yuma.
The Fergs out .......
Those sculptures are so cool! We have been in that area a couple of times but have never taken the time to go see them.
