Rancho Oso Guest Ranch & Stables - Santa Barbara, CA - October 16, 2016

We awoke from our 3rd Wally World boondocking stop since hitting the road and the weather was pretty nice. A good travel day. We were out of there and heading down Interstate 5 by 7:45 AM.

After 93 miles on I-5, we headed west on Highway 41 to get us on Highway 101. Just a light rain was coming down now.

Just north of Santa Barbara, we turned off and headed through the Los Padres National Forest to our destination. A 264 mile day.

We are now at the Rancho Oso Thousand Trails park. The official name is Rancho Oso Guest Ranch & Stables. It is half horse people and half RV people.

It is a pretty nice area. Great weather so far, but the entrance road into the park sucked bad. It was steep, narrow, hairpin blind corners. Would hate to meet another RV on that road. Verizon is the only cell service that works here, and it barely does. And there is these nasty little black flies all over. They buzz all around your head as you walk around, looking for an orifice to invade. No doubt from all the horses here. Other than that, this place has some great ammenities. And Santa Barbara is just 20 miles away.

This is our 38th Thousand Trails park (out of 59) that we have been to. It is a bucket list thing to visit all the parks in our membership. The next 3 TT parks are next and then we will have been to all the TT parks in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Michigan. And we have plans to visit the  TT parks in Texas that we haven't been to that will complete Texas as well.

So now here are the pictures of this park. I have to take lots of pictures of each park because we start forgetting which ones are which. Old age I guess. LOL!

The entrance.

Horsies!

The 'western' side of the park.

Covered wagons to rent.

Even a tipi.

Not an old west movie set, just more rentals.

You can go for a horse ride for $40.00 an hour.

The RV area.

The Adult lodge.

Pickle ball courts.

And tennis.

Two nice pools and hot tub.

Family Lodge.

The chapel.

Country store.

And the pool is open too!

Mini golf.

More space available in the 'Electric & water' area.

There we are.

Many types of cabin rentals.

Our street.

Close quarters.

But we have a good spot.

And we have some furry friends here - tarantulas!!!

That's it for this post. Time to explore the area now.
Later!
