The Ale Trail & Crater Lake NP - Bend, OR - October 12, 2016

After staying 2 nights at our Son's house, watching the Grandsons, it was nice to sleep in our own bed. But it was moving day, and we slept in! Oh well. I wanted to be on the road by 9 AM because I wanted to make it to Bend, OR, 380 miles away.

We were on the road at 10 AM. North on I-405, East on I-90, and South on Highway 97. We did stop and gas up in Toppenish, WA at Safeway. This is an Indian reservation and it was just $2.39. This is the lowest price for regular gas we have seen in Washington.

Down the big hill from Goldendale towards Biggs Junction.

Across the bridge on the Columbia River and we will be in Oregon. I think the sign is missing, but here we go entering Oregon.

We don't normally travel this far in one day, but we did this time. 380 miles! And it was starting to get dark by the time we were passing through Bend, OR. Our Thousand Trails park we chose, was 13 miles south of Bend and we arrived just with enough daylight to get parked safely. A nice 50 Amp pull through site.

A long day, but it felt soo good to be on the road again.

We had planned 3 nights here, and it was pretty chilly in the morning, 31 degrees.

Our first day here, we headed south to Crater Lake National Park.

There was even snow up here. Thank goodness none on the roadway.

We even got Fergizmo the Gnome out.

What a beautiful place this is.

Oh look, tourists!

The next day, we visited the High Desert Museum.

This place was pretty cool. It was a museum, zoo, and educational center all in one.

Then on into Bend to explore the famous Ale Trail. We walked our little legs off, but it felt good, especially after a flight or two.

After 10 breweries, we returned to the Bend visiter center and picked up our souvenir Ale Trail glasses.

Then it was back to our campsite to enjoy an evening campfire together.

A great stop here in Bend, OR.

Moving on tomorrow!
