Thunderbird TT for the 4th and on to Vancouver, WA - July 3 - July 11, 2015

It is a short drive from our RV park at the Thunderbird in Monroe, to our Son's house in Mill Creek. We were going to watch the grandsons while Tim & Shannon take off to the Napa valley for their anniversary on the 5th. But before that, we drove through Seattle,

to the Pyramid Brewery for lunch. It is a neat place right across the street from the Seahawks and Mariners stadiums. We had a good time.

Here is me as we left the place.

Then through Woodinville. There is a Gazillion wineries in Woodinville. We stopped off at Kestrel Vintners and did a little wine tasting.

Here is Tim & Shannon

Later Tim brought the boys over and we goofed off around the pool. Here they are in Nana & Papa's RV.

On the 4th of July, there was a big fireworks show just across the river from our park. And we had a great view from our spot. Here is the crowd gathering for the show.

It was awesome. One of the best 'private' shows I had ever seen. Big stuff...lots of it, going off like crazy! Cool!

Then we took the boys while they took off on their trip.

We walked and played around Green Lake. 2.8 miles around. The weather was perfect to be outside.

Kids had a great time. Ice cream later. Here is Roman.

We did Legos,

Watched movies,

Bath time.

We had them 2 nights. Fun Fun!

Then it was time to lift jacks and head for Vancouver. Only our left front jack would not come up. Rats! I dinked around with it for quite a while, then just unbolted it and removed it. OK, we can move now. I'll have it seen about down the road.

We headed south on Interstate 5 through Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia. The traffic wasn't to bad, but the roads really suck. What a rough ride that was.

Our plans were to do 3 days at the Vancouver Elks visiting our oldest daughter, Candy, then on to a COE campground by Pasco to visit our youngest daughter, Kim. We had reservations for the COE park, but thought the Elks would be no problem.

Opps. We pulled in and it appeared that all the spaces were taken.

Rats! I parked on the side where a couple of other boondockers were parked.

We started to formulate a plan B. 50 miles on up the road there was a fairground in Hood River, OR. I've already gone 210 miles today. Oh well. But first I'll snag a couple of pictures of the full lot for my blog.

Well, what do ya know? I do believe space number 1 is available. I boogied into the office and ... yup it was. And I got it for the next 3 nights. $45.00 ..cool!

Now we were going to visit our daughter here, but ... she is gone. Long, long story. The last 4 days have been pretty bad for her (and the family). As a struggling alcoholic, she has some re-lapses. Two trips by ambulance to the ICU. It was bad. By God's grace they re-started her heart and got her breathing on her own again. Yes it was bad. Almost lost her. This has been going on for many years. We are praying this time in rehab will do the trick. She is now in Murray, Utah.

Prayers welcome.

So ... we are here and decided to do a few things. We drove a little East on Interstate 84 to Multnomah Falls. We hiked some trails and took some nice pictures.

On the way back into town, we stopped off at the Willamette National Cemetery and visited my Aunt & Uncle.

This is a nice place. Green & clean. Who knows, this may be Me & Donna's final resting place.

Then we saw a sign for McMenamins Brewery. Hey it is lunch time.

Now we have been really watching our diets for the last week. Making good progress too. OK .. a day off is in order!

We each had a flight. It was a nice sampling of what they brew here. And Donna had a regular burger & fries, I had a Blue Cheese burger & Cajon tater tots.

Donna's

Our's

Mine.

I'm telling ya. That was the best food. Dang! It really was.

Back on the diet tomorrow.

Stay tuned....
