On to Thunderbird TT for the 4th - Monroe, WA - June 25 - July 2, 2015

Well, my cold had me feeling pretty crappy for just over 1 day. Glad for that. It's effects are still lingering, but I'm feeling much better.

On our last day at La Conner, we drove down to Stanwood and visited our friends at the Warm Beach Christian Camp. We hadn't seen Steve & Nancy or Mark & Terri since Arizona. We had a great visit. They are members of MMAP, Mobile Missionary Assistance Program. They travel around the contry in their RVs and help out with whatever is needed at various Churches, Christian Camps, and the like. We just may be doing this next year.

We made the move to the Thunderbird Thousand Trails in Monroe. We will be here through the 4th of July weekend.

We got a good spot with 50 amp & water.

There is going to be a big fireworks show just across the river from our site.

Here is the view from inside our rig.

We were parked just 500 yards down the row last year and they shot off a ton of fireworks then. It should be a good show.

While we have been here, we have got to visit Tim & Shannon several times. Ww also have watched the grandsons a few times too.

Here is 'Nana' building a Lego helicopter for Roman.

The weather has been unusually hot and so we have been taking advantage of the pool here. They have an adult pool, kids pool, wading pool, and hot tub.

Nice and refreshing on a hot day.

It was very hot (110 degrees) in our hometown of Wenatchee (110 miles east of us). And they had a big fire there. It made all the big TV news channels.

It started about 7 miles from town.

It was hot and the wind started blowing. The fire rushed towards town.

It reached town and homes were going up right and left.

It became a firestorm.

The wind blew sparks and stuff into town and torched off a recycling plant, a couple of fruit warehouses and other businesses.

This is some of the chunks of burning cardboard that was flying around.

29 homes lost. It was crazy. The chatter on Facebook was nuts! Lots of prayers. FB was the place to keep informed.

Before

After

The next day, the good Lord sent rain. And the crisis was over.

We had a big job to do the other day. In this hot weather, our refrigerator has been really working hard to stay cool. It was time to defrost.

We packed all our food into insulated coolers with plenty of ice.

And we defrosted and cleaned her out.

RV fridges are very inefficient. After turning it back on. I monitored the temp to see when we could put the food back in.

The thermometer was in the middle of the main fridge area. The temp outside was around 84 degrees.

Here is the temps I recorded.

At 11:45 - all done temp was at 76 degrees
at 1:00 - 71
at 2:15 - 64
at 4:30 - 51
at 6:45 - on for 7 hours - 48 degrees.

We put the food back in shortly after that, and it took till morning for the temp to get back to normal.

With that task done, it was time to relax and enjoy Donna's new discovery .....

Yumbo!
