La Posa South BLM LTVA, Quartzsite, AZ - Febuary 6, 2015

After our mini RV Dreams reunion, we just puttered around our little desert area in the Roadrunner BLM area. One day, we drove along Pipeline Road here and found a bunch of geocaches. It was fun. We enjoyed the day out in the desert.

Here is a map of the geocaches around the Quartzsite area.

This is what Pipeline Road looks like. There is one every quarter mile or so. The smiley faced ones are ones we have logged already.

We should have well over a hundred by the time we leave this area.

Our friends Tom & Cheryl stopped by and visited before they left Q.  We should meet up again at the Escapees Escapade in Tucson in March.

On the first, we had to watch the Superbowl.

Our Seahawks didn't win, but what a great year they had. Next year for sure!

On the 4th, after 13  days boondockng in the desert at Roadrunner, we packed up and moved up the road a whopping 7 miles, to La Posa South. It is a BLM Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA). We paid the 40 bucks for a short term permit good for 2 weeks. On our way in, we dumped our tanks, and took on 80 gallons of fresh water. We found a great spot to park.

We are kinda by ourselves with a little bit of vegetation and a cactus, with a nice view. A good spot for the next 2 weeks. While here in the LTVA, we get the use of the dump area, fresh water, and dumpsters.

A couple of days ago, we drove into Blythe, CA to Albertsons to get a few things. Before we left town, we swung by Scott's house. Scott is Donna's oldest son and lives with his family in Blythe. We thought he was working so we were going to leave a note on his door. We didn't have his phone number. But he was there along with his kids, Brock & Mia. His wife Melissa was working. We set up a date to visit this Sunday.

On the way back to Q, we stopped for diesel at Texaco (in Arizona) and filled the tank. It was $2.37 a gallon. That's the least we have paid since on the road. Nice..

So the weather is warming up nicely here. 80s during the day, 50s at night. Our solar is doing a great job. No need for generator use.

Our cats are happy too.

Donna has been going through all her sewing stuff. She has a ton of fabric. She is cutting out patterns so she can make a bunch of bags and aprons, and some sun-dresses too. Later she will start sewing them all together. She always sells a bunch of them at the Good Sam rallies when we go to Washington. Now instead of having 6 tubs of sewing stuff, we now just have two.

So it was time to clean out and re-organize the basement again. This time I wanted to uncover all my battery and solar connections and make sure that all the connections haven't loosened up during our travels.

All my tools. Everything I need.

Our inverter.

It is good to have some pictures of our layout.

The sub-panel.

Everything was good. I did tighten all the connections though.

I'll end with a couple of sunset/sunrise photos. It seems like these colors happen everyday. A camera just doesn't do it justice.

The beautiful desert.

Later...
