I finally got my truck back from the Chevy dealership. They had to replace both thermostats. With my extended warranty, if cost me $223.05. It took them a week, but they got the job done and I have no more engine check lights.
The park was really starting to empty out. Temps were getting pretty warm to all the winter visitors.
The cacti were starting their yearly blooming. Here is an Ocotillo.
Moving day - April 6th - Had trouble bringing my big living room slide in. It was hanging up along the top. I lifted the leveling jacks, and it finally came in. oh oh. Something to watch for a while. I topped the truck off in Yuma at Frys using my $0.10 off and paid $4.79 a gallon for diesel.
After 291 miles, I stopped at Boulder Beach Campground by Boulder City. $10 to boondock.
The Lake was sure low.
The next morning, my slide came in very slowly. But it did come in.... so off I went.
After 416 miles, I stopped at a Loves truck stop in Wells, NV. This time I left the slides in.
The next day I drove 463 miles and stopped at the Wildhorse Casino in Pendleton, OR. Again the big slide acted pretty funky. But it came in.
For my last leg of the trip, I drove 150 miles to Selah, WA and setup at the Yakima Elks Lodge. $30 for 50 Amp & water.
Lucy did well for the trip, but was glad to finally get stopped for awhile.
The trip was 1,474 miles. Between Yuma, WA and Yakima, WA, I paid an average of $5.20 a gallon for diesel. I averaged 11.01 MPG. The highest price I paid for diesel was in Yakima at Fred Meyer and paid $5.46 a gallon.
I went to our daughter's house and picked up Donna. Together again...yea!! Here is my grand daughter Ali & me.
We visited with Kim & family 2 days and we were planning on driving over the mountains to the western side of the state and visit with our son Tim & family. But it started snowing like crazy. Interstate 90 over the passes had chains required. We decided to stay an extra night.
The next day, after fighting the sticking slide, it did come in and we drove 150 miles, in light snow, to Moses Lake and checked into a RPI park, Pier Four RV Campground. $13.00 a night FHU.
Then it really started snowing again.
It is cold too. Last night it got down to 25 degrees. But we are keeping warm.
When the weather improves, we will head over the mountains.
The Fergs out .......
The highest we have seen over here is $5.19, now it is down around $4.85 or so. Hopefully it gets lower through the summer. Hope the issue with your slide is a one-time thing.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are some long, long travel days! Glad you made it to WA safely. Hope the issue with your slide is an easy fix!
