Good Fellowship and Heading To The Desert - October 28 to November 3, 2015

After 4 days at the Elks Lodge in Visalia, we headed on over to our friend's house, a big whoppin' 6 miles away. Where we met up with 5 other members of the Escapees Christian Fellowship BoF group. We will hang around their house for 5 days before heading on to Death Valley for a rally.

We all parked together with 3 other RVs. Here we are and a few shots of the other rigs.

Our cats are liking this stop. They have met other furry RV friends here.

Halloween night, we all volunteered to help out with a Harvest Festival at the Grace Community Church in Visalia.

Is this just the coolest costume?

We had a million kids come through our room and play our 'game'.

Ping pong balls were flying everywhere.

We handed a ton of candy and prizes out. The kids (and us) loved it.

A really fun night.

We all went to church services Sunday, and then we all packed up for an early start in the morning. Visalia was expecting rain in the morning, and we wanted to get over Tahachapi Pass on CA-58, before the wind picked up.

After a 218 mile move, we pulled into Peggy Sue's 50's Diner in Yermo, CA, just past Barstow. We got here around 11:15 AM, just as the wind was starting to build. It blew all evening.
This is a cool stopping point.

The Diner-saur eating area out back.

We all parked in back of the place and was 'almost' sheltered from the wind by their building.

There are 7 of us here.

We ate together, played games, and had devotions. A great time!

And we decided to have an early dinner here.

It is really nostalgic inside.

Good food too.

Only a one night stop this time. We are trying to slow down our moving pace and we are one month into year three and this is the first one night stop we have made in year three since hitting the road.

One more thing, in honor of men's health awareness (prostate cancer, etc.) I am participating in Movember. This is Moustache November. Men grow a new moustache for the entire month. And I started off fresh.

Yep, that's me!

Death Valley National Park next!
