Kartchner Caverns State Park, Benson, AZ - March 4 - March 8, 2015

We drove 58 miles to Kartchner Caverns State Park, just south of Benson.

We even got the only level spot, #20.

There is a nice visitor center here where you can see a movie, check out the exhibits and museum, and purchase tickets for a tour into the caverns.

We met back up with the Christian Fellowship BOF here. We have 11 rigs, 22 people and one night, we had all 22 of us in one motorhome. We had a potluck and celebrated Donna's birthday. She is 60 years young today.

Besides the potlucks, devotions, and fellowship we enjoyed here, we did take a tour into the caverns. We did the 'Throne Room' tour. It was Donna's first trip into a cavern. She loved it. We weren't allowed to take pictures down there, but it was awesome.

Another day, I hiked the 2.5 mile Foothills Loop hike, with another mile to a mountain top viewpoint. Nice views of the area here.

On another day, Donna & I, and a few more friends, took off on the 4.5 mile Guindani Trail. We only did a little over 2.5 miles of it, but it was fun.

On one of the days here, we drove to Fort Huachuca. We were going to visit the museums there, but they were closed for remodeling. I guess we will see them on another trip later.

Then we continued on to Bisbee. What a neat old mining town.

We stopped at the Old Bisbee Brewing Company.

Donna had a Root Beer, and I had the best Copper Canyon Ale. Very good!

Then on to Tombstone, 'The Town That Wouldn't Die' We saw the old Courthouse, OK Corral, Boot Hill, and other 'cowboy' stuff.

On to the Escapade in Tucson tomorrow.

  1. Did you know Curt and Glenda from the last rally are there now? They leave Sunday to meet up with us at Pancho Villa SP in NM.
