Memorial Day Weekend

My sister Karen, and her husband Cliff, arrived here at Crescent Bar Sunday, May 18th. They have a Sydney 5th wheel and when their house sells, they want go full time. We went to church that morning. It felt good to see all our friends again, not to mention that the service was great too. Getting back to Crescent Bar, we visited with Karen and Cliff and had them over to our place where I comenced to bore the heck out of them by showing our pictures we had taken since going full time on the road the last 8 months.

Monday we made another trip into town to have lunch with Bruce and Carol, our really good friends. Then over to our grandson Erik's to visit and see Oli too. Then Randi's that evening for pizza and games. Trying to see everyone before we leave the area for a while.

Tuesday, we visited with Donna's brother Roy and his wife Connie. Then back to Crescent Bar to kick back for the rest of the day.

Wednesday was moving day. We took our time preparing to move. Check out time was 12 noon. We were off at 11:45 AM. We stopped at Walmart in Ephrata to get a few things. I called Ron, a friend who was at Oli's 2nd birthday party, and he and Sue came out to the Walmart parking lot and we visited there. I gave him a DVD that I had copied with 130 pictures that I took at the birthday party. Then we headed on to Pier 4 RV Resort in Moses Lake. Check in wasn't till 2:00 PM so our stop in Ephrata worked out great. It was a 58 mile trip. A nice relaxing move day.

Pier 4 is a Sunrise Resorts park. It also accepts RPI (Resort Parks International) members. The RPI rate is $10.00 per day (plus a few little extra fees and charges). We are planning to be here a week before moving to the Moses Lake fairgrounds for the Washington State Good Sam Samboree.

They had us park in a nice grassy area backed up to Interstate 90. It is OK. We get to see all the weekend traffic fly by. And it really hasn't been a problem sleeping either! We did see a couple of mosquitos... boo! But it is all good.

Here is a few pics of our spot.

We are really just going to take it easy the week we are here. The park was pretty empty, but with the holiday weekend, it will be full up.

Lots of empty spots now (Friday).

But they are coming in hot and heavy today. Lots of families with kids, lots of tent campers. Lots of 'people watching' to do.

May has been a very good month for us, budget wise. Our full timers budget is located on our main page at www.thefergs.com. With only a week to go this month, we are under our monthly budget goal by $571.00. That is pretty awesome considering we rented a U-Haul and setup a mini storage for our daughter earlier this month and had Oli's 2nd birthday party. More '$$$' for our 'Emergencies and Unexpected Expenses' fund.

Happy Memorial Day!!
