The 2013 Ferguson Christmas Newsletter.

Season’s Greetings to our friends and family

Once again we are eager to share another year’s adventures, as God continues to bless us with His bounty and grace. The Ferguson’s year in review.

We began the year with our good friends the Nash’s.  Since we were living full time in our RV, and winter, they graciously offered their basement for us to live in during the winter. We got along beautifully with Bruce & Carol. What a blessing they are to us.

Donna and I moved out and into our RV the first part of March. We stayed in various RV parks in the area while I continued to work for Frontier Communications. I was approved for Social Security Disability and was able to retire from the phone company June 3rd. I adjusted rather well.  It feels good to be retired.

The last part of June, we helped Bruce & Carol with the harvest of their apricot orchard. We helped pick, sort, and pack. After the harvest was completed, they packed up their motorhome and took off on a trip to Alaska. We moved our 5th wheel into their orchard and began house sitting at their house. While there, I watered and  mowed the orchard and took care of things till they got back.

Early in August, we took a quick trip (by car) to Rapid City, South Dakota to register our vehicles there and get drivers licenses. South Dakota will be our new state of domicile. On the way, we drove through Yellowstone National Park, and while in SD, we visited Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, the Badlands, and other ‘touristy’ spots. We also met up with other RV friends that we hadn’t seen for a while. We had a great time.

We finished our house sitting and packed everything up and hit the road on September 5th. Our full time RV adventures begin.

We visited our daughters Candy and Kim in Vancouver as we left the state. In Oregon, we visited a couple of cousins, Cathy and Butch, in Coos Bay. We did some hiking and biking in Redding, CA. Saw the giant trees at Sequoia National Park, and visited two of Donna’s brothers in Oroville, CA. We visited with Gary and his kids, and with Larry and his wife Barbara.  Having a great time.

Then we had some truck problems in Bakersfield, CA. We were there two weeks and I ended up buying a new truck there. It was my birthday present I guess. I’m happy with the decision and off we went again.

We made it to Fort Mohave, AZ and visited Donna’s brother Gene and his wife Cyndi. While here, we got the metal detector out and also started geocaching. We had just found our 3rd geocache when Donna slipped on some rocks and broke her ankle. It is a good thing our travel plans are set in jello, because we are going to be here for a while. Donna is in a cast and we are invited to Gene & Cyndi’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. We are enjoying the Arizona weather this winter.

Here at the RAT (Riverside Adventure Trails RV Park), we have been attending the Sunday church service in the club house.  With close to 300 RVs here, a Godly presence is greatly needed. Even though we listen to recorded sermons from our Pastor from our home church (www.ecfmc.org) back home in East Wenatchee, WA, it feels good to have another ‘family’ here. The Lord has been with us in all our travels.

As I complete our year in review, Donna and I miss our friends and family scattered around the country. Follow our blog at www.thefergs.com. We may be knocking on your door soon.

We hope your Christmas is beautiful, with a bountiful table shared with love with your families, as we all celebrate the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas, and we wish you all the best in 2014!

Allen & Donna Ferguson
