The Badlands

Since the DMV is closed on Mondays, we played the tourist today.

We headed 70 miles east on I90 and planned on visiting the Badlands National Park. We stopped first at the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site. There was a lot of cool history here about back in the cold war days.

The tours were booked and that really sucked. We would have really enjoyed going down into an old missile silo. But we did purchase a Passport book so we could get all the National Park stamps and stuff.

On to the Badlands NP.

Yep. That's us by the entrance sign. We felt like we were traveling on another planet. What cool landscapes.

We came upon some Pronghorn Antelope or something. Pretty cool.

The visitor Centers, where we get our new Passport book stamped, are very interesting. They document the history of the area and have lots of really neat exhibits.

Then we visited Wall Drug....in Wall, South Dakota. What a huge store. Lots of places for the tourists to spend their money.

There are a million opportunities to take some good 'touristy' photos.

It was a hot day, and their ice cream fountain was a lifesaver.

Yumboo!!

Tomorrow is gonna be fun filled too.......
