We really love the Oregon coast. Even though this time of year, it rains alot, pretty much everyday. Everything is green and mossy. We have a lot of indoor time while it rains.
But when the rain stops, and you can get out and explore, it's awesome.
Donna's brother moved here from Ft. Mohave, AZ this last December and we have got together several times. He took us down into 'Old Town' to a place called the Firehouse Resturant & Lounge. It has the best clam chowder. And the brews are pretty good too!
We have been down to 'Old Town' several times, but I waited for a nice sunny day to get some pictures taken.
An interesting shop.
Hmmmmm?
Many fresh seafood restaurants.
More Florence locations.
Mo's. We have to hit this place before we move on. Great food.
Lots of cool old bridges along Highway 101.
These guys are all over town.
Florence is right next to the great dunes of Oregon.
This is the first place we ate here.
I want to try this place. Lots of local craft brews of tap here.
On another 'good weather day', we headed up the north coast to see some lighthouses and do some hiking. We did the Hobbit Trail. Just a mile to the beach and back. Very green. Like walking in a tunnel at times.
We brought our friends along with us.
Then stopped at the beach overlooking the Heceta Head lighthouse.
There is always good views from the many roadside pullouts along highway 101.
We also drove out to the North Jetty along the Siuslaw River. There was a lot of people out enjoying a 'no rain' day, even though it was a little cold.
Enjoying the Oregon coast.
Fergs .... out!
Love the Oregon coast, this is the first year since we have been on the road we are not heading over that way. Going to miss it!
