September 14 to September 24, 2012 - Chehalis, WA to Harrisburg, OR

Heading off to the RV Dreams Rally in Harrisburg, Oregon. After 230 miles, we stopped at the Thousand trails Park in Chehalis, Washington. It is a big preserve and built in a dense forest with lots of hills. We drove through looking for a site and ended up just stopping in the rental area, by the rental units, and parked there for the night. We didn't even unhook. I did walk down to the Adult lodge and check out the pool and clubhouse. They were pretty nice. We just wanted to rest and get an early start in the morning.
We left around 9:30 in the morning and stopped in Vancouver to visit Candy. We only went 80 miles, but the traffic got thick in and around Vancouver. We pulled into the back of WinCo Foods, right accross the street fron Candy's house. We visited for a bit and took off again for Harrisburg, Oregon.
Drove another 109 miles through Portland. I was glad to get south of the 'big' city. It wasn't reall too bad though. We took I5 all the way. we followed Howard and Linda's emailed driving instructions through Harrisburg and right to River Bend resort.

River Bend Resort is very nice. we all gathered around the campfire each night, getting to know one another and sharing stories.

We got here 3 days early to get away from the forest fire smoke back in Wenatchee.

So how was the rally? It was great! Learned soo much. Met lots of lifelong friends. Can't wait to retire and get going.
Here is a little bit of what all happened at the rally.

My truck (on the left) got to meet Howard's famous truck(with the new motor).
Sites were pretty close together, but we got a end spot. Worked out great.
There were 3 other Cameo 5th wheels there also. It was good to meet other Cameo owners.

I didn't meet the owner (he wasn't at the rally), but this was a very nice bus conversion.

Steve and Diane (from Canada), has this nice set-up.

We met Mark and Patty, who had this Sanibel. We hadn't heard of this model, but it was very nice too.

Brock and Nathalie were there from california with this pop-up. They are now known as the Pop-up People. Great folks!

We had tons of seminars from Howard and Linda on many subjects concerning the full-time lifestyle. Learned a lot. Here is Howard with his 'Selecting a Home Base/Domicile" seminar. We learned so much good stuff!

We had catered meals, pot-lucks and lots of goodies. No body left hungry. It was a social extravaganza!

Our last night, we had a catered meal and a 70's DJ playing music. The theme was the 70's era. Folks dressed up in the 70's era clothing. We enjoyed Good music, dancing, food, fellowship, could it get and better? I think not!

Linda really enjoyed herself...I mean REALLY! What fun!!!

This must have been ...YMCA... remember that one. It was nuts!

Howard and Linda Groovin' and movin'.
And how cool is the Macarena!

And how cool is the Macarena!

We even got down and boogied. Had a ball!

Here is Sherry getting an impromptu foot rub.

All in all, we met so many great lifelong friends. Here are a few more.

A wonderful rally. Packed with fun and information. I think we will see them all again....down the road!
