Birthday Fun & Move to Ponderosa TT, Lotus, CA - October 1 - October 5, 2015

I got to celebrate my 63rd birthday while we were at the Russian River TT park. We started off with a drive to the Francis Ford Coppola Winery. This was a pretty fancy place, and had lots of his movie memorbilia also.

A Tucker.

The Godfather's desk.

Then on into Santa Rosa and to the Charles M Shultz museum. The US Postal Service was here putting on a big wing-ding. They were releasing the new Charlie Brown postage stamps. This was day 1, and there were collectors and the press everywhere.

We then made our way to the little town of Bodega. This place, and Bodega Bay is where they filmed the Alfred Hitchcock film, The Birds. Had to check out the touristy memorabilia and the places that were in the film.

It was a good birthday day!

The next day, we went into Cloverdale to see their Oktoberfest event. It turned out to be a 'not so' big event.

So we went back to the RV and had our own Oktoberfest, with hot dogs and Oktoberfest beer.

I took one more picture of the Russian River before we were to move on.

Sunday, we made the 182 mile drive to our next TT park.

We headed south down Highway 101 to Novata, then turned east and jumped on I-80 at Vallejo. In Sacramento, we got on Highway 50 towards Placerville and our park in Lotus.

A place in California that isn't drought stricken.

Sacramento in the distance.

The Ponderosa Thousand Trails Resort is the 28th TT park out of the 60 TT parks in our membership, that we have stayed in.

We somehow, picked up a hitchhiker while towing the Jeep????

Cute little fella anyhow.

We snagged a good FHC site. We are lucky to get a sewer connection at this park.

Great WiFi here, hence the many pictures in this blog.

We have 5 days here to explore the area.
