Lighthouses & Surfers & Gypsies - Morgan Hill TT - October 18, 2015

We took a trip around the area to see the sights. We headed to Santa Cruz first. We drove over Hecker Pass on Highway 152. Up and over Mt. Madonna. A beautiful drive to Santa Cruz.
As we drove along Santa Cruz Bay, we saw a lighthouse. Had to check it out.

It is the Walton Lighthouse. A great spot for a couple of pictures.

And there was a strange little bird there.

Kinda looks like a little pelican or something. Cute little bugger. Love his big webbed feet.

Driving up the coastline, we passed the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, a hugh amusement park, and the pier. In the distance we saw another lighthouse.

As we got closer, we saw there was a big event going on at Lighthouse Point State Beach. It was the O'Neill Coldwater Classic, a surfing competition.

This beach is a good surfing spot I guess. There is a surfing monument here.

I took some pictures of the surfer dudes doing their thing and the spectators.

And the lighthouse turned out to be a surfing museum. Kinda cool.

We will be leaving Morgan Hill TT Park soon, and pretty sure we won't be back to this one. You wouldn't believe all the homeless people here. It feels like a combination RV salvage yard and a getto trailer park. There are RVs here that are rotted and falling apart. I have seen some folks load up their 'stuff' into a pickup truck and hook up their trailer to move. It looked like the Beverly Hillbillies. Kinda sad. There is a section in this park that charges an extra 5 bucks a day to park there. It is a 'improved' area with 50 amp service. There, you pretty much find all the real RV'ers.
Now that we have been here, and seen the poverty, we know that we are blessed to be able to continue in this lifestyle and are very greatful for all we have.
