Yosemite National Park - October 12, 2015

One day we drove into the Yosemite NP. Even though it is the 'shoulder' season and our RV park was pretty empty, Yosemite sure wasn't.

One problem was that we chose Sunday to go, and the weather was beautiful. I guess half of California decided it was a good day to visit also.

We stopped at the entrance sign to get our 'park visit' photos.

We brought our friend, Fergizmo, with us today.

We stopped at the info center just inside the park to pick up some postcards and a hiking map. After driving through the beautiful woods and mountains, we came into view of the Yosemite Valley, and El Capitan and Half Dome.

It was a good view. too bad there were fires nearby and it was so smoky.

Here is the fire.

As we got on the other side of the fire, and smoke, we pulled over several times to take some pictures. So did many others.

We did get some good shots.

As we got closer to Yosemite Village, Half Dome came into view.

After walking our legs off,

We explored the 'Village' area. It was like a little town there, Post Office and everything.
Here is the visitor center.

We learned all about the history of the park.

And took advantage of some photo-ops.

As we explored the park, we saw waterfalls with no water. Dang California drought! And we made it right up to the base of El Capitan.

And saw this.

You had to look close, but these rock climbers were amazing .... and scary too!

We didn't see any wild life, except for tourists, but it was a good day.
