Thunderbird Thousand Trails Resort - Monroe, WA - April 13, 2017

It was just barely drizzling when I got all unhooked, jeep connected, and on the road. It was a 131 mile travel day. Going north on Interstate 5, traffic can be heavy through Olympia, by Fort Lewis, and through Tacoma. We hit these areas around 10:30 AM and had no problem at all. Then we took I-405 to bypass Seattle and passed through Bellevue easily. Then Hwy 522 on to Monroe. This is when the rains really came down.

We pulled into the Thunderbird Resort, a Thousand Trails campground, just after noon, and as the rain stopped. We have been here many times because it is the closest TT park to visit our son, Tim. We also brought our daughter, Candy, with us too. She will be with us until Easter. We plan on having a big family get together for Easter.

The site we parked in isn't the ideal spot.

My jacks lifted the front tires off the ground and it is pretty hard to make it in and out of the rig. The door is really up there. Also, the satelite TV signal comes and goes with the rain. There are lots of trees here and I have a very weak signal. I think we will be watching for a better spot to move into in the next couple of days.

After we were all settled, Tim called and asked if we wanted to meet them in Bothel at Red Robin for dinner. So we did.

It was good to see Tim & Shannon again. And the boys, Roman & Ryker are growing up so fast. After dinner, we went over to their house for awhile.

It has been a little sunny at times, a bit rainy too, and a couple of gully washers too! Crazy wet weather.

I will post a review of the last TT park, Chehalis, and this one soon.

Fergs .... out!
