We headed inland from the Oregon coast Saturday. We stayed an extra day here because of a crazy wind storm that hit the northwest. Washington and Oregon got hammered. Trees down everywhere. The Sea Lion Caves, just south of us had 92 mph wind gusts. Definately can't drive in that stuff! Our rig was rocking like crazy. I almost fell over while standing in the kitchen when a gust hit us. A good day to sit still.
We stopped in Albany at the Bi-Mart. Just long enough to say hi to my cousin Jeff, and his wife Eileen, who both work there.
I had't seen him for years. Next time through, we will plan on staying in this area for awhile.
Continuing on, we hit a little rain just as we were entering Portland. We took the I-205 loop around the big city and it wasn't bad at all.
Across the Columbia River and to the Elks Lodge in Vancouver.
$20.00 a night for 30 amp and water. Can't beat that in this area. We will do 3 nights here while visiting with our daughter Candy, and grandson Erik.
Candy came over and spent all 3 nights with us. Erik spent one night with us and we got a Red Box movie, The Magnificent Seven. Pretty good remake.
The highlight of our stay here was a trip to the Vancouver Mall and Safari Mini Golf.
Erik is an avid golfer and this is something we all could do together, on a rainy day.
Under the black lights, neon colors everywhere, we had a blast. Many photo ops.
I got 2 holes in one. One real one, and another when Candy hit my ball with her's and it went in. Then on the last hole, Donna got one. The red lights flashed and she won a free game ticket.
What fun!
It's moving day today.
Fergs .... out!
That place looks like a blast!
