We were on the road after 2 weeks in Florence by 9 AM. Our destination was only 47 miles away, north on Highway 101. This section of the Pacific Coast Highway, I think, is the prettiest section. It is mostly right along the coastline. There are quite a few slow spots (25-35 mph) and hills with gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. It was an uneventful and short trip. We did have a few sprinkles on the way, but when we arrived, the weather stayed nice.
We are going to probably just spend 3 nights at the Whalers Rest Resort, a Thousand Trails park. There isn't a lot of people here at this time of year, so we had many choices of camping spots.
We chose a nice 50 amp FHU spot with a good view of the ocean, and good satelite TV reception.
My next post will be my review of this TT campground.
Fergs .... out!
