After a very windy night, we woke up to 26 degrees outside, 42 inside. We had one space heater on all night, and quickly turned on the other one. Then I fired up the furnace too. Yep, time to move on.
We were on the road by 8:30 AM. Yea! No wind today. We gassed up as soon as we got on Interstate 40, for $1.79 a gallon. As we drove west, we entered the cold storm edge.
As we entered New Mexico, it started to warm up and we saw some blue skies.
We were going to stop somewhere around Albuquerque ... but we didn't. We did stop at Camping World just west of Albuquerque and filled the propane tank ($3.19/gal). We continued on to the Sky City Casino, about 50 miles west of the city. We gassed up the RV there ($1.85) and were going to spend the night in their RV park there. As we were checking in, the power went out. Oh well, let's keep going.
About 20 miles further west, in Grants, NM, we did stop at a Mom & Pop RV park we had read about on the app, RV Parky. This will do for the night. A little over $19.00 a night using our Good Sam discount.
Blue Spruce RV Park
There is nothing here, so we are just doing one night. We are going to head toward Gallop, then turn north and go into Colorado. We have now gone around the big 'Polar Vortex' thingy.
Time to relax now, It has been a 375 mile day.
Sounds like you will be going through Moab. That is a common route for us.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good route. A gradual climb and beautiful views.
