Minnesota and Wisconsin - August 20-23, 2014

Just before we left Iowa, Donna had the honors of putting Iowa on our map.

We waited for the thunderstorm to pass before we headed towards Minnesota.

It was just 139 miles to go today. We entered Minnesota.

And stopped at Blue Earth, MN. I had read about a good Fairgrounds camping spot..... and it was very good!

The Faribault County Fairgrounds has full hookups, 50 amp, and it is free for the first 24 hours. Then if you stay longer, it is $20.00 a day.

We were the only ones there.

Even has a bike path that goes right along the camping area.

Across the street from the fairgrounds, was a Walmart, and this big fella!

It was a great photo opportunity. Couldn't pass this up!

We even found our first geocache in Minnesota while we were here.

And it was state sticker time again.

We just spent one night (free) there, and after the morning thunderstorm, we hit the road on our 259 mile move to Wisconsin.

We crossed the Mississippi River.

And crossed into Wisconsin.

The trip was uneventful, a little rain, but Rumble Bunny didn't seem to mind.

We are going to spend a couple of days at the Ho-Chunk Casino in Baraboo, WI.

There is a RV park there, but we didn't need hookups.

We headed into the east end of their parking lots.

Way out at the end...all by ourselves. A good spot.

Another state sticker too!

That makes 14 states that we have traveled in and spent the night in our RV there.

Tomorrow we go after our WI geocache.

  1. Having lived in MN and WI is it cool to see your pictures. Although I have been through those areas, I have never stopped and stayed.
