Canyonlands N.P. - Pack Creek Campground, Moab, UT - September 18, 2017

Our week here in Moab is just perfect for us. We have been to Arches N.P. twice and downtown Moab just about everyday. We also drove up the road one day, to the Hole In The Rock.

This place was carved into the mountain back in the 1940s. The house is over 5000 square feet and is really cool. It was only 6 bucks for a short guided tour. There is quite a lot of touristy stuff all over the area here.

No pictures allowed inside, but it was pretty cool.
After touring the 'rock' we stopped for lunch at a nearby rest area.

That night we all went out for diner at Zaks, on the main drag of Moab. We all had the all you can eat pizza, soup, and salad bar. Pretty good food, and it was just $14.95 per person. We all got our moneys worth that night!

Another day, we took a drive up the Colorado River canyon. In the 18 mile drive along the river and the towering red rock cliffs, we saw rock climbers, petroglyphs, and even dinosaur tracks in the rocks. Pretty cool!

I think they were aliens.

Allosaurus tracks.

Yesterday, we decided to do the Canyonlands National Park. We got an early start, and stopped at the entrance sign for the picture taking ritual.

Then to the visitor center

for the film and to get our maps and make a plan on what we wanted to see and do. And of course, get our passport stamped.

We drove all the roads and stopped at all the viewpoints. It was amazing. Each of these Utah parks have such a different landscape and rock formations. This place had some awesome canyons, valleys, and cliffs.

Arches here too.

Pretty cool shot!

I am photo bombing Bev & Tim's photo.

We hiked the Mesa Arch Trail, and the Upheaval Dome Overlook Trail.

Then stopped for lunch at one of the picnic areas.

All together, we spent about 6 hours in the park. It was a great day. I enjoyed both parks, but I think I liked Arches a little better.
Tomorrow, we are heading to Panguitch. We will be there a week and use that location to go visit the other 3 National Parks in Utah.

Fergs .... out!
