It was a little cooler on Wednesday, topped out at 74 dgrees, so we took off to see Vegas. We walked to the closest bus stop and paid our $5.00 each. This allowed us to ride all the buses all day long.
We headed north on the Boulder Highway to the Freemont area of Downtown. The big Freemont Experience includes a cool light show on the 4 block long ceiling,
but only at night. Ah well, we have seen it before. But there were several changes that we hadn't seen. We stopped at Hennesseys Tavern for some chicken strips and Guiness. Pretty good.
Across the way was the Heart Attack Diner. They have a burger that comes to 9,982 calories... we passed.
We went through some casinos, just looking around. Here we are in front of a million bucks at the Binion Casino.
We did do a lot of people watching. Donna found an interesting couple of gals.
Then we headed down the strip on the Deuce Bus.
First we got off at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop made famous by the tv series, Pawn Stars
.
We peeked in the door, but decided not to stand in line. A busy place.
Then back on the Deuce and down the Strip we went. We almost stopped at the Stratosphere and took a trip to the top, but it was $20.00 a person and we are just too cheap for that. I had been up there years ago and I swear it was around 8 bucks back then. Next stop at Circus Circus to catch a circus act. Then Treasure Island and the Venetian.
And on down the Strip.
The good old classic casinos. Man! They must make a fortune. These places are fancy.
We had a spot on a double decker bus, in front. We cruised the Strip with a great view.
Then we transferred to the 203 bus route and back to the park. A busy day. I think we are done with the 'Vegas' experience now.
Donna has been using up all her material that she had been carrying. She is making handbags, aprons, and checkbook covers to sell on craft day at the up-coming Good Sam Rallies we plan on attending in Washington.
I have inventoried all my Solar and Inverter stuff that I pulled out of the Bighorn. I now have a shopping list of pieces and parts to buy at the hardware store. Then I can get to work on the Solar and Inverter install.
It all will go in here.
There was a few things I could get started on. I picked a place to mount the Solar and Inverter remote panels.
Well, that wasn't too bad.
Looks pretty good too.
I had a message on RVillage and it was from '8amp'. They are Phil & Mary. They have a Bighorn here and are RV-Dreamers also. They walked around the park and were looking for another Bighorn.
We met up, had a good visit, and I informed them of our recent trade into a motorhome.
Then I updated my profile on RVillage.
We will be hanging around here for a few more days.
Looks like your solar installation is coming along well, looks great so far!
ReplyDeleteHow come Donna got to stand with the girls???? Good luck with your solar install.
