Down Donner Pass we went. From 6000 feet elevation, down to 400 feet. We arrived in Yuba City around 10 AM and after a re-stocking stop at Walmart, we pulled into the Yuba-Sutter Fairgrounds.
We are here, representing the Christian Fellowship BoF (Birds of a Feather) group. This rally is the Westwern Area Rally for Escapees (WARE).
We got parked in a nice grassy area. 30 Amps and water. It is like a park here.
There are 128 rigs here for the rally.
During the welcome ceremony, Donna and I got to carry our banner for the Chapter Flag parade.
Afterwards, we hung it on our rig. Quite a few folks saw the banner and stopped by to 'chat'.
This was a great venue for the rally. Very pretty place.
These are the 3 meeting halls that held all the events.
This one is the one that we held our devotions in each morning.
Lots of activities here. On the left side of the table, beside Donna and I, was Mary Ann. She was one of the attendees at our devotions. She joined Escapees here at the rally ... and joined our Christian Fellowship BOF too.
Two more of our attendees, Gary & Vicky on the left, and Mike & Catherine on the right.
We met lots of great folks here.
Mike & Catherine have their own winery. They produce several varieties of wines under the lable Heaven's Gate. They gave us a bottle of Tempranillo.
Here is Mike playing bean bag baseball.
One of the Chapters here, put on a Burrito breakfast. Man! They were good!
We went to several of the seminars here. We are at the Geocaching seminar... in the back.
Here is Donna chatting with a lady from the Chamber of Commerce here in Yuba City. She gave a talk on all the history here and things to do.
We had pot lucks, games, seminars, raffles, happy/social hours, devotions, and prize drawings. A great rally.
We even met up with Roger & Dawn Cline. We had met them last September in Indiana at a RV Dreams rally. They have their 5th wheel now and expect to go full time in 2016.
What a small world.
We are leaving here and heading northward again tomorrow.
Looks like a good time! Be thankful you were not on I-80 yesterday!
ReplyDeleteYou're not too far from our stomping grounds of Placerville. We'll be back there next month. We've finally got the geocaching figured out and are having a blast finding them!
ReplyDeleteWe thought of you when we were driving down the mountain. Yes, geocaching is pretty fun. We try to get at least one in every state.
