Good Sam Rally, Phoenix, AZ - February 24 - March 2, 2015

We met up with Kyra at our parking spot at Buckeye Hills Rec Area the day before we headed out for the Good Sam Rally.

We had a good boondocking spot and even caught a nice sunset there.

It is always good to see friends on the road. And I know we will see her again.

Off to the rally we go.  Only a 38 mile move. The 24th, and 25th were the 'early days' and we took that time to visit Wal-Mart and get settled in.

My brother Jim (& Eileen) were there as well as Dave & Dee, whom we met up with in Quartzsite. There were several folks from our Washington State Good Sam Club at the rally.

Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) is a nice venue for this event. A very large parking area and the activities are all in the infield of the race track.
And there were tons of RVs there.

Some of the things we did while there were: Looking at all the new RVs, shopping at all the vendors, attending many seminars, several concerts, bingo, a renewing of our wedding vows event, and raffle drawings. We watched a movie one night with Jim & Eileen (God's Not Dead).

on Feb 28th, I woke up to see that my Galaxy S5 phone had died. Now that sucks!

I visited the Verizon Wireless booth in the big tent. The upgraded my VZ Jetpack (for free), but couldn't help me with my phone. We drove to a VZW store in Avondale and they confirmed the phone was toast. Only 2 months old too!  They ordered me another one and it is being shipped to our Texas address.

Man, is it hard to be without a phone these days?

Here is pics of the rally.

We did buy a sign at the rally from the wood carver dude.

Cool, huh?

Monday, we headed out. 193 miles down the road to the Casino del Sol, just south of Tucson.

We will do a couple of days boondocking here before meeting back up with the Escapees Christian Fellowship group at Kartchner Caverns.

Stay tuned.....

    1. Thanks Debbie. The Good Sam Rally and the Escapade Rally are pretty cool, but the friendships made at the RV-Dreams Rallies are what it's all about.

  2. Looks like you had a good time! Did you put a down payment on the $710,000 rig?
