55th Escapade and Goodbye To Our Bighorn - March 8 - March 16, 2015

We left Kartchner Caverns State Park and headed for Tucson. A quick 44 mile move to the Pima County Fairgrounds for the Escapees 55th Annual Escapade.

The parking crew did a great job and got us parked in the boondocking area.

We are still with the Christian Fellowship group and we are all parked in one row.

The Pima Co Fairgrounds is a nice place for this event. There are 3 main buildings where all the vendors, seminars, and other activities take place.

Lots of seminars took place.

Some of the seminar presenters were Technomadia, Nick Russel, Geeks on Tour, and more.

While walking through the vendor area, we saw Loretta. It was great to see her again.

Our group had socials.

Potlucks.

And Sunday church along with morning devotions.

While in the Tucson area, we did get out to visit the Saguaro National Park.

And now for the big news....
Yep. we no longer are 5th wheel owners. We have a motorhome now.

We traded in our truck and Bighorn for a Fleetwood Southwind 35A.

We had lots of help moving from the 5'er into our new rig.

We removed the solar panels, inverter, EMS, AGM batteries, and even the vent covers.

I had to rent a u-haul trailer to hold a bunch of 'stuff' till we settle long enough to go through it all and get organized.

We headed to the Fort Mohave/Bullhead City area where Donna's brother, Gene, will help us find a good toad and get it all set up.

What a change of plans.

Typical life of a RVer.

Life is Good.

  1. What??? Why? OK, you need to add a little more explanation in your blog on what made you decide to become motorhome owners after so many years of owning a 5th wheel. LOL, you guys are living up to the mantra that it takes at least 3 tries to find the right rig.
    How are the kitties adjusting?
Hope we get to connect somewhere down the road

    1. I think we have made a good trade. The 5ver sure held a lot. Gonna be organizing for quite a bit. Cats love it though. If we don't see ya soon, we will catch you in WA.
